Let's Record Music

Intro To Recording

Want a new creative way to express yourself through technology?  Ever wondered how music is recorded and produced in our computer age?  This is the first class in Let's Record Music's stream of courses to learn more about our modern digital age of sound.  Taught by Eli Hason (recording engineer, DJ Eliazar,  and sound designer for video games) these courses exist to teach youth, and the young at heart, how to get started in working with audio.
Here is your chance to learn how you can record and produce your own music or podcasts on your own home computer.  We will show you how signal flow works, EQ, the use of plug-ins, how to record sounds into your computer and manipulate them, as well as learning to create your own beats all using free to use programs.   Students will leave with a CD of free music programs and sound samples to use on their own computers  and a small USB interface to start their recording at home.   Participants are requested to bring their own computers if they are able to, but we will make sure so get a computer for every two students to work on.  When signing up for a class please state if you are able to bring your own computer.

We will go over the options for recording music for free on your computer using these programs

Audacity
Mixpad
and a short intro to
Zulu DJ software
